8. Where are your products made?

Every product we produce is thoughtfully and expertly formulated and manufactured in the United States of America from globally sourced natural and organic ingredients, including Manuka Honey. We work closely with its Manuka Honey distributor and the Unique Manuka Factor Association to ethically source Manuka Honey from New Zealand.  

9. Are your products gluten-free?

Yes! All pHat 5.5 products have been tested to be gluten-free. As with any new products, if you have serious allergies, we recommend that you consult with a doctor or do a patch test first.

10. Are your products cruelty-free?

Yes! All pHat 5.5 products are certified cruelty-free. Preservatives are required for safety and performance in any cosmetic product that contains water or aloe in order to prevent the product from becoming adulterated. Every ingredient is examined by pHat 5.5 for safety. We look for information on significant health endpoints like skin irritability, cell damage, reproductive toxicity, and cancer. Preservatives are among the hardest ingredient categories to screen. They may also be toxic to other life forms in some concentrations because they are intended to kill bacteria, mold, and/or yeast.

We carefully chose options that were effective in very trace levels or small concentrations. We employ the lowest percentage of preservatives necessary to complete and get the job done, and we’re on a continuous quest to find even better, safer preservative options (including natural preservatives).

12. What preservatives do you use?

Here is the list of some of the preservatives and preservative boosters that we are currently using in some of our products: Ethylhexylglycerin, gluconolactone, phenoxyethanol, salicylic acid, and sodium benzoate. We only use a very trace amount of these preservatives, depending on the ingredient and product.
