I buy this for my 20 year old son who gets psoriasis on his scalp. He says it works great. We have tried lots of other shampoos to combat this issue including a prescription that made him sick. I recommend this because hes said its great and we keep reordering it. We get the shampoo and conditioner. He has tight curly, dry hair. I hope this review helps someone.

Everyone's skin and body will respond differently to medication and/or treatments, so I can only speak to my own personal experience with this product. I apologize if anything I'm going to talk about below is TMI, but I feel like it's important to share my actual experience, and psoriasis is not exactly a sexy topic.I have severe plaque and scalp psoriasis. Before I continue with my review, I should note that I have been using this shampoo in conjunction with two other products to help manage my horrible scalp psoriasis (one to help with the itching and the other to help with the cell regrowth). I expect this is fairly common for people with psoriasis; it's hard to treat to begin with, and my dermatologist recommended that I use a combination of products to find something/anything that works for me. These products have been helpful with reducing itching, but I still have the horrible flakes. I consulted my dermatologist before trying this shampoo to ensure that it would not counteract or reduce the effectiveness of my medication in any way and she advised me to give it a shot.I've been desperately searching for a product that would help with the flakes. If you're anything like me, you've probably tried a million products to help heal psoriasis. I feel like I've tried the majority of shampoos at this point, and they tend to smell horrible and also be ineffective for me. The only effective one I had been using was pulled off this market, and I was pretty upset. I'm someone who likes to wear her fair share of dark colors, and I get really embarrassed by all of the flakes. The phat5.5 shampoo appears to have reduced the amount of flakes overall. For me, this is significant. It's pretty rare for my psoriasis to respond to anything except strong topical ointments, so I was very surprised that I noticed anything at all. Something that I think helped the product be more effective was using a shampoo/scalp massage brush. They are really cheap (mine was less than 2 dollars if I remember correctly) and allow me to not only apply scalp products closer to my scalp without wasting anything on parts of my hair that don't need it, but also helps to "loosen" flakes from my scalp. The added bonus it that is feels really good. As an aside, the psoriasis shampoo by pHat5.5 also smells decent, especially for a psoriasis shampoo.I have used the shampoo twice daily for a week. I did not notice results until the night of day 4 when I brushed my hair and noticed that I visibly has less flakes on my brush. I'm on day 8 now, and I'd say I have about a 75% reduction in flakes. Importantly, I'm seeing them almost exclusively on my brush and not seeing them on my shoulders throughout the day.I can't say for sure if it was the shampoo on its own or if the shampoo was just the missing supplement for success with my scalp psoriasis treatment, but I'm very glad I gave it a shot for even a slight reduction in symptoms. I would recommend giving it a try, especially since they have a satisfaction guarantee.I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone may have about my experience with the shampoo. I know how miserable psoriasis makes me, and I would love to be able to help someone else feel even a little bit better!I received this item at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I take honest reviewing very seriously, and all opinions above are 100% my own.
I've been using it a few days and it does a nice job. I do not currently have SD, at least not with an official diagnosis. I suffer with sores, bumps, flakes and itching on my scalp. I have used head and shoulders, t-gel, and other dandruff shampoos that just haven't worked. I was excited to find this and give it a try. I have seen a difference in the amounts of flakes and the itching has started to decrease as well. The shampoo is more expensive than I would want to spend on a regular basis. But if the product continues to help, then I will be purchasing this item again. The shampoo doesn't lather, so you have to use more than usual in order to get it all over. The conditioner is AMAZING, and I'm talking as someone with difficult hair. After having weight loss surgery last year, my hair started falling out due to lack of protein in my diet. As I worked out the kinks in my diet and my hair started coming back in, I have noticed a difference in the texture of my hair and how I have to work with it. As someone who has always had fine brittle hair, losing a lot of it was devastating. As it started to come back in around Christmas I noticed that it has a dryer texture to it than I'm used to. It get oily super quick, this is normal and has continued. The biggest issue is trying to treat a dry itchy scalp, when you have fine oily hair. The product just doesn't exist to treat both, so I've always just had to take turns with which shampoo and conditioner I use. I have been happy using this product so far, because it is addressing one of my hair issues. Nothing will really work to make my hair not fine anymore, but this helps with the issue of not digging at my head and scratching so much. Amazingly when you scratch your head/scalp less, it seems to get oilier at a much slower pace. This has been a huge deal for me! The problem still isnt solved completely, but it has made enough of a difference for me to notice. To sum things up, I'm really liking this product. It takes care of the itchiness and a lot of the flakes. The sores and bumps haven't decreased yet, but they do say it takes time for those two things to heal. In turn for scratching my head less, my hair gets oily at a much slower pace. Plus, I'm no longer that person you see, scratching their head constantly. I give this product two thumbs up!!!!I received this product at a discounted rate, in exchange for my honest opinion review. I always make sure to give the most honest and true reviews, based on what I have experienced with the product. I base a lot of my purchases off of product reviews and I want to hope that they are true when I read them. That is why, even if I dislike a product that I have reviewed for a discount, I will still give it a bad review. So, please take into account that if I say I love or like a product, it is because it reflects my personal experience with the product.
